Reedsfield Care provides live-in care in Guildford: one trained carer living in the home, supporting your relative through the day and sleeping in overnight. Guildford is outside the area we can staff for hourly visiting rounds, so live-in care is the service we offer there, and we would rather say that plainly than take on visits we cannot cover reliably.
The carer lives in the house. They help with getting up, washing and dressing, medication, meals, shopping, housework and getting out and about, and they are there overnight if your relative needs help or becomes unsettled.
The point of it, for most families, is continuity. It is one person who learns the routine, notices when something is off, knows which mug is the right mug, and can tell the GP what has changed over the last fortnight.

Where the carer sleeps and their days off
The carer needs their own bedroom, bathroom access and wifi, and eats from the household shop. They take around two hours of break each day, usually while your relative is resting.
Carers work in rotations of two to four weeks with a named relief carer covering the break, included in the weekly fee. Your relative gets to know two carers, not a stream of new faces.
Conditions our live-in carers support
Our carers are trained to support people living with dementia, Parkinson's, the after effects of a stroke, multiple sclerosis, cancer and palliative needs. We provide practical and personal care at home and work alongside the district nursing, hospice and GP teams who lead on the clinical side. We do not provide medical treatment.

Cost compared with a care home
Live-in care with Reedsfield starts at £1,150 a week for one person with standard support, with complex needs quoted after an assessment. For one person that is usually in the same range as a mid market Guildford care home. For a couple it is normally much less, because one carer supports both partners.
There is no setup fee, no agency fee and no minimum contract, and notice is one week.
Making the match, and changing it
We visit at home first, free of charge, and talk about the person as well as the tasks. We then propose a carer and you meet them before agreeing to anything.
If the placement is not working, tell your care manager and we change the carer at no charge. It is usually a question of personality rather than skill, and it is far better dealt with early.
Frequently asked questions
Do you provide hourly visiting care in Guildford?
No. Guildford sits outside the area we can staff for hourly rounds, so we offer live-in care there. For visiting care we cover Egham, Virginia Water, Staines, Ashford, Sunbury, Shepperton and Feltham.
Is the carer awake all night?
No. The carer sleeps in the house and helps if needed overnight. Regular night time care is a waking night arrangement and is quoted separately.
How long does it take to arrange?
It depends on matching the right carer. Call 01784 740078 and we will give you an honest timescale rather than a sales one.
Are your carers employed by you?
Yes. Carers are employed, DBS checked, trained and supervised by us. You are not employing anyone yourself and there is no PAYE for you to run.
What is your CQC rating?
Reedsfield Care is registered with the Care Quality Commission and rated Good.
