Reedsfield Care Ltd is a domiciliary care service providing personal care to people living in their own homes. The service provides support to people living with dementia and those with enduring healthcare needs.
The inspection was completed by two inspectors and an Expert by Experience โ a person who has personal experience of using or caring for someone who uses this type of care service.
The inspectors spoke with 4 people who used the service, 10 relatives, the registered manager and 8 other members of staff. They reviewed care plans, medicines records, staff files, training records and audits.

Safe
Good- Sufficient staff who were given enough time with people and travel time between calls
- Staff recruited safely with DBS checks, references and employment history verified
- Appropriate medicines administration records and competency assessments
- Systems in place to safeguard people from the risk of abuse
- Risk assessments were informative and accessible on handheld devices
- Appropriate infection prevention and control measures with PPE provided
Effective
Good- People's needs thoroughly assessed before care began
- Staff received regular training including dementia, moving & handling, and infection control
- Staff supported to complete Care Certificate and diplomas in care
- People supported to access healthcare services and maintain good health
- Consent sought in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Staff empowered people to make their own decisions about care
Well-Led
Good- Framework of governance with audits, reviews and unannounced spot checks
- Regular contact with people and families to seek feedback
- Same core group of carers allocated to individuals for continuity
- Staff felt valued and supported by management
- Open and transparent culture with duty of candour understood
- Working in partnership with GPs, pharmacists and district nurses
