Care in a busy riverside town
Staines-upon-Thames is a busy town centre with Edwardian terraces, post-war semis, town-centre apartments and 1960s maisonettes. Many people we support live in upper-floor flats close to the Two Rivers shopping centre, so we think about lift access, parking for carers and how someone gets out safely for shopping or a walk.
The Thames riverside walk and Staines Bridge are close to most homes, and accompanied outings along the river are a common part of companionship visits here.
Coming home from Ashford or St Peter's
Ashford Hospital and St Peter's Hospital in Chertsey are both close to Staines. When a family calls us before discharge, we can plan the first visits so someone is at home when they arrive, and review the hours once they are settled.
Neighbours and transport
Ashford is about two miles north, Laleham and Stanwell about two miles away, and Egham three miles south west. Staines station and the 8, 441 and 461 buses make it simple for relatives to visit. Staines is in Spelthorne Borough Council, with adult social care run by Surrey County Council.
